My Magic Shop
Circa 1999 When I first arrived in #BC in 1994, I set up a #kiosk at Westminster Quay Public Market. Here is myself and the #MagicShop it evolved into.
Brief history of my shop: I started it in Winnipeg (1989) as a mail-order business, "Merry Minstrel Majick". It quickly grew to include the world, so it evolved into a physical shop out of my home in Fort Rouge. (Grosvenor Ave.) I served not only the local (Winnipeg) community, but also magicians in Italy, Africa, and North America! Many local magicians contributed to "original" tricks in my shop, until I left for points west (Vancouver) in 1994. I still keep it an online store, (except for that brief year in the photo) although I still prefer the in-person service.

Back to the Seventies!
I actually started my magic and music career back home in 1970's Montreal, using the stage-name "Shawn Stevens", because I liked Shawn Phillips' mystical image, and the music of Cat Stevens. As a solo act and with only my acoustic Aria, I did colleges, Parks and Recreation events, and coffee-houses in and around my Montreal. Never reaching the musical heights of my drummer father Lou Likey who put me through college with his career, (he made quite a name for himself back then) he bought me my first guitar (the Aria) at Steve's Music Store in downtown Montreal, as well as my second guitar, a lovely nylon-stringed one from Pascal, a hardware store near our home in Cote-des-Neiges!
The songs on this album formed the core of my concerts, along with cover-tunes by Cat Stevens, Dan Hill, Supertramp, Meat Loaf, and others. Enjoy!

From my television show, (circa 1993) "Magic Mike and Company", this rarely-seen show features my assistant Winnie the Hedgehog, @CindyLewandoski (while regulars Desmond Dragon and Forgetful Lion @DarrellScarrett are on hiatus) and special guest (via bank-tape) Uncle @DanDeurbrouck. I do a few magic-tricks, and myself and Winnie share an ecology-tip and craft idea. As usual, I annoy you with my guitar and voice....enjoy!
