It saddens me to announce the passing of one of my oldest friends, Brian Dwoskin (we met when we were eight) Stuart Nutik being the oldest, as we met when we were seven. Brian physically left this earthly realm November 15th. Brian and I went to Bedford School, Northmount Highschool, and Dawson College in Montreal. Along with mutual pal Robert Galambos, we enjoyed the social and culinary scene that Montreal had to offer. We considered Lynnda Rakos and her family to be generous and loving friends. Eventually when we found our future wives and careers, we all drifted somewhat apart, although Brian and I maintained a telephone friendship throughout our re-locations to other Canadian cities: he moved to (and stayed) in his beloved Ottawa, and myself, to Toronto, my beloved Winnipeg, and finally Vancouver-area. He was generous, funny, laid-back, and cared much about people. He loved his cats, and cats in general. He was always there when I needed him, and even when I didn't know that I needed him. I could always pick up the phone and get feed-back or an opinion from him when times were tricky. He always provided a grounded and realistic perspective for me. I only wish that I could have been as great a pal to him as he was to me.
He is free now, free of worry, free of his earthly body; I know that some time, some where, we will meet again and we'll say to each other as we did in this life, "Hey guy! How you doing?" Farewell for now, Brian Beryl Dwoskin. (1955-2020)
