INTRODUCTION
Magicians, as well
as variety entertainers alike will appreciate this treatise on creating,
developing, and building your stage persona, or character! From initially recognizing your literary, movie, and
television interests, to evolving those interests into a physical entity that
lives and breathes on stage, I intend to guide you to creating someone that is
not only a reflection of your true self, but one whom you can feel proud and
comfortable with onstage! This is my latest endeavor, "Creating Your
Character"!
Please allow my 30 years
experience as a professional magician both onstage and on television to guide
you as you discover your on-stage persona! You will evolve your persona (or
character) into someone you feel comfortable with! From your costume to your
props, your magic (or variety entertainer) will appear to your audiences as
unique as you are, potentially earning
you a good wage as an “original” character in the eyes of managers, agents, and
of course, your audiences! I’m hoping that the information contained herein
will be a “must-have” for the serious working professional as well as for the
beginner alike!
